Research Tips:
1. Identify your Topic and Keywords: Each of you are assigned an STI to research by your teacher. To develop your search keywords:
2. Identify your Potential Sources: your teacher already identified a list of online resources for you to use. Visit those sources manually, or:
- Think about what you already know on the subject
- What questions do you want to answer
- Create a list of keywords (or power words), "search phrases," and synonyms to give you lots of options while researching!

- open a new tab in chrome
- go to google
- do a search on: the author, publisher, and content of the information
- is the publisher/author an expert on the topic? does the publisher/author have bias?
- can you find the same information on 2-3 other sources?
5. Build your brochure and give credit for your Sources! Now that you have all the information you need, cite your sources.
- Cite your images in the captions below the pictures!
- Cite information from your sources, within the text of the browser, with parenthetical documentation (meaning in parenthesis).
- Library Subscription Databases provide citations; use MyBib or other citation tool to create a correctly formatted citation
- The minimum requirement is 2 information sources!

- doing a Google Advanced Image Search. Limit Usage Rights to: free to use, share, or modify even commercially.
- Using Encyclopedia Britannica. All of images are ready to use with citations!
